Qiagen: Still off the radar on NextGen Sequencing but until when?

During the AGBT (Advances in Genome Biology and Technology) congress, Qiagen is announcing the launch of its Next Generation Sequencing (NGS) workflow. Despite few details available, we believe that if Qiagen is able to replicate its sample to result strategy as it did in Molecular Diagnostics, NGS could well be another successful growth driver. Qiagen is unveiling an ecosystem from DNA extraction (QIAcube) to the benchtop (GeneReader) and software with SAP. The NGS is now in the “verification phase” and Qiagen will start placing NGS customer groups in 2013.
