Swiss watch exports grew 3.8% in December, rebound in China in December

Swiss watch exports increased 3.8% in December to CHF1.84bn, partly thanks to a less demanding comparison base (December 2012: -5.6% vs. +4.5% in November 2012), following a stability in November and a 1.1% increase in October. In December, the situation in Mainland China has clearly improved (exports are up 19%) but probably helped by an easy comps and an earlier Chinese New Year. Growth for 2013 reached 1.9%.
