Position: Director of the Healthcare team

Our Corporate Finance activities focus mainly on the Healthcare and TMT industries. Bryan, Garnier & Co provides clients with advice on capital markets transactions (IPO, follow-on offerings and PIPEs), mergers and acquisitions, LBOs, private placements (venture, growth capital) and equity-linked and structured debt financings. The team is made up of seasoned investment bankers from a wide variety of backgrounds and international experience, including former venture capitalists from the industries on which we focus .

We are recruiting a Director to accelerate the development of our Investment Banking Healthcare franchise and strengthen our capabilities.

Job description:

Bryan, Garnier & Co requires that a Director assumes a high level of responsibility almost immediately. A Director will contribute in sourcing new transactions and ensuring effective deal execution. This generally involves meeting with CEOs, CFOs, corporate development executives of public and private healthcare companies, and private equity funds, preparing and delivering client presentations and managing a team of analysts and support staff. The position will appeal to individuals who seek to work in a demanding and rewarding team environment. Tasks involve:

  • Participating in deal origination
  • Assuming a pivotal role in execution and transaction processes
  • Preparing and delivering presentations
  • Performing financial and strategic analyses
  • Negotiating the main terms of a transaction
  • Supervising and training associate and analyst level bankers
  • Ensuring sector coverage
  • Contributing to the overall development of the Investment Banking team requirements

Skills required:

The ideal candidate will have significant transaction experience in an international investment bank, or a private equity fund, (minimum six years). Prior experience in the Healthcare sector is required. We are looking for individuals with the following skills:

As the principal client contact in a client engagement, a Vice President coordinates the transaction process, from initial meeting with senior management to working closely with senior professionals to negotiate mandates. This generally involves meeting with CEOs, CFOs and corporate development executives of public and private technology and healthcare companies, preparing and delivering client presentations and managing a team of analysts and support staff.

The position appeals to individuals with hands-on experience in both execution and assistance in origination, who seek a challenging opportunity requiring expertise and great reliability.

A Vice President typically works on more than one transaction concurrently, with an initial emphasis on project execution rather than on marketing pitches and research projects. The position will provide unparalleled exposure to senior professionals and the world of investement banking. Tasks involve:

  • Manage execution and transaction processes
  • Provide support in deal origination
  • Ensure timely preparation of presentations, transaction materials and financial analyses
  • Manage and train associates and analysts
  • Contribute to the development of our Healthcare franchise

 

Skills required:

The ideal candidate will have an outstanding academic track record from a recognized college or university with a degree in Business or Finance: Business Schools (HEC, ESSEC, ESCP, Science Po, EM Lyon…), Tier 1 University (Dauphine, Sorbonne, Assas…) and Engineering Schools (Mines, Centrale…). In order for applicants to be considered, a minimum of 5 years of previous experience in investment banking is required. We are looking for individuals with the following skills:

  • High level of autonomy in transactions and in client interactions
  • Excellent technical competences combined with attention to details
  • Time management, organizational and prioritization skills
  • Ability to work under pressure
  • Proven interest in healthcare
