Job description:
Bryan, Garnier & Co requires that Analysts / Associates assume high levels of responsibility immediately, supporting the ECM transaction process, from the initial stages of origination to full transaction execution. The position appeals to driven individuals who want hands-on experience in transaction execution in an entrepreneurial setting, who seek challenging opportunities in a fast-paced investment banking environment. Based in Paris, the ECM team works closely with our international offices including the English, German, US, and Nordic teams.

Tasks include:

  • Provide general transaction support and contribute to diverse internal initiatives
  • Preparation, negotiation and finalization of all type of origination (teaser, pitch, other materials) and execution materials (marketing presentations, prospectus, internal briefing materials, legal documentation, timetables, mandates, agreements, and other legal and regulatory documentation required for ECM transactions)
  • Financial and transaction structuring: advising corporates in the financial and legal structuring of equity capital markets transactions
  • Research, sector and market coverage: in-depth screening of transactions in our targeted sectors and market environment

Qualifications:

The ideal candidate will have an academic track record from a recognised college or university. Moreover, 1-4 years’ experience from investment banking or strategic consulting is desirable, however highly motivated new graduates are also encouraged to apply.

 

The relevant candidate should have:

  • Strong accounting, financial theory knowledge, and financial modelling skills
  • Excellent understanding of capital markets and ECM related products
  • Strong Microsoft Office skills as well as Bloomberg, Dealogic & Thomson
  • Excellent written and fluent spoken English & French
  • Reliability and strong attention to detail
  • Ability to work under pressure

    Private Placement has been a key focus area for Bryan, Garnier & Co since 1996 and the firm is one of the leading investment banks in Europe in this market.     A Director within the Private Placement Group works on transactions across all of the firm’s targeted industry groups covering all stages from pitches to closings.

    In cooperation with the Managing Directors, he will engage in the origination of new opportunities, the marketing of transactions with institutional investors (PE firms, VCs, hedge funds, etc.), coordination with Associates and Analysts and industry groups, in the preparation of documentation, and participation in due diligence, placement and negotiation of the transactions.

      • Valuation: undertake valuations from initial data to indicative valuation and present them to colleagues and clients, taking responsibility for the substance and quality of the work

      • Presentations: support Managing Directors in preparing pitches for prospect presentation
        Research & Documentation: coordinate the writing of detailed investment memorandums and other transaction documents

      Skills required:

      A previous 3-to-6-year Investment Banking experience in Transactional Services and/or M&A (non-internships) is required for applicants to be considered.
