Bryan, Garnier & Co acts as Sole Financial Advisor to the Shareholders of Däckskiftarna in the merger with Bythjul, a portfolio company of French investment group Mobivia

Bythjul and Däckskiftarna have long been leading players in the Swedish tire and rim market, on February 13th the merger between the two organizations was finalized, forming the leadning omnichannel company in the sector.

Bythjul is a portfolio company of the french mobility investment company Mobivia, who acquired the company from the Nordic private equity firm Verdane Capital in 2014.

Bythjul CEO Claes Kjelldorff said that the merger means that Bythjul will gain personal customer service, tire hotel and a service network while Däckskiftarna will join the largest tire warehouse in the Nordics with its experience in e-commerce. He added that the deal is in line with Bythjul’s strategy to complement its online business with a physical presence and thereby strengthen its service to customers.

Däckskiftarna is a omnichannel franchise chain most known for its seasonal pop-up stations in large supermarket parking lots.The franchise network of +70 stations across Sweden reported 2022 sales of approximately 300m.

Meanwhile, Bythjul had sales of around SEK 500m (EUR 43.9m) in 2022.

They have over the past years developed a seamless experience for the seasonal tire shifting process with digitally empowered services such as tire hotel, tire shifting and e-commerce platform. The franchise network of +70 stations across Sweden reported 2022 sales of approximately 300m.


Mobivia was founded in 1970 by Éric Derville and is today 50% controlled by Association familiale Mulliez. Mobivia is an ecosystem, whose 9 brands and 22 startups are dedicated to mobility of the present and the future. The portfolio companies in the Mobivia group did in 2020 generate a combined revenue of EUR 3.2 billion, with 55% generated outside of France.
